Our Strategic Plan
The KDH vision is a hospital that is much more than a place for treating illness: it is a vital and compassionate part of a larger, integrated health system, supporting the mental, physical and social health and wellness of the people and communities we serve.
To achieve our vision, KDH has a clear and focused Strategic Plan, which is centred on five strategic directions, with four key priorities supporting each strategic direction.

Our current Strategic Plan, Your Hospital, Your Community: Growing Together, guides our work from 2022 through 2026. The Plan was developed in collaboration with more than 800 stakeholders: patients, staff, partners, and neighbours.
We will be releasing a report halfway through the term of the Plan to share our progress to that point, and then a final report at the end of the term.

"I had a total knee replacement at KDH. From admitting to discharge, my experience could not have been more positive. The kindness, care and service were exceptional and way beyond words. I have never experienced such excellent personal care and I have had many surgeries before this one. I am vegan and therefore do not consume any animal products whatsoever. The dietitian came to discuss my diet with me soon after my surgery and I was accommodated for the first time ever. I could not believe the level of personal attention. There is so much more that I could say about this hospital and its staff and all of it would be positive. A big thank you to all of the medical staff and volunteers."
